The Popin family also shares their house with Orion's impulsive cousin, Delphinia. Delphinia, who they call Dala, lived in Alaska for 15 years, until deciding to come and live with Orion at age 22. She is very flexible, and takes it upon herself to teach Yoga to anyone who'll listen. She's vegan, and encourages the other family members to follow suit, although that never actually happens. Dala has dark brown hair and green eyes, and has fairly tan skin. She is attracted to dangerous things, and bruises easily, so she always has a fair amount of new bruises on her skin at the end of each day. The only one in the family who really listens to Dala's Yoga instructing is Esther who, as she can't go outside, has nothing else better to do. Along with herself, Dala also brings a pet Velvet Ant, who's cage is nearly constantly avoided by all members of the family aside from Zinnia, who takes an interest in it from day one, along with a vast collection of carnivorous plants, which are all kept in her room. Dala loves poetry, her favorite being The Dormouse and the Doctor by Alan Alexander Milne. She loves romantic comedies, and cooking.
Dala is a muggle, although her side of the family was informed of Orion's "abnormality" as she calls it. Dala is Orion's cousin on his father's side, and is Jewish. (Orion isn't Jewish because religion is typically "passed" through the mother.) She loves all sorts of insects, especially ones that bite or sting such as spiders and wasps. Her pet Velvet Ant, Bott, is not her only insect companion, and she the second largest room in The Outpost to herself for her and her insects.
She loves all sorts of floral and rectangular patterns, and designs and sews most of her own clothes, making some garments for the rest of the family. She often argues with Orion and Halen for being the only people who eat meat in the whole house, even Chernobyl, Mogget and Pants are fed vegetarian pet food (which does exist.)
Delphinia has a bubbly personality, and loves warm colors. She's a strange and impulsive character, but overall a very easy and enjoyable person to be around. She hates shoot 'em up movies, and doesn't really care for horror, which makes her miss out on most family movie nights. She adores children and chilly weather, as she spent most of her life in Alaska.
Her favorite flower is the dandelion, and her favorite animal is the blue velvet ant. She eventually teams up with Zinnia in a clothing design business.

Yep yep, I had a vegan neighbor who gave her dog vegetarian dog food. :) She was way cool, but she moved. She did give me a plant, though before she left....
