SAVE OUR ORIGINAL CHARACTERS!





Sometimes your OC seems...Hollow. Lifeless. Boring. You think. You try. But...You want to kill off your OC. They're skating on this ice!But wait! What's that?! It's Kairu, coming to SAVE YOUR OC!!!



STEPS


  1. Write a list. Writing a list of traits is extreamly helpfull, actualy. It's an organized way to keep track of trait balances, like bad to good, mental to psyical, etc.
  2. Fix the levels. If you OC seems to have more Good traits to bad, then fix it. But that's now why we're here.
  3. When writing the list, think about gaps.  A 'Gap' is a place where an OC is under developed.  Like a work in progress. (Ex; I recently realized Smith had no life...)
  4. Fill  'em in!   Fill in the gaps with these steps!
  5. Think; What would (er, nameless OC) Say if someone else said...? If someone asked your OC to pass the salt, what would they do? just pass it, or snap at the asker? Spend a day with the question, What would my OC say in this situation? In your mind. (No more than a day, then you just seem kinda crazy.)
  6. Creator to OC likeness; If you have a writers block, think about yourself. OC's should have some likeness to there creator. (Ex: My moodyness is transphered into Kairu having two personalitys- Morning Kairu (the bad) and normal Kairu (the good)) Give your OC freckles if you have freckles. Make your OC shy if you're shy. Make them distinctly yours. (But be warned, too much likeness will result in...DUN DUN DUN The self-Insertion sue!!!) Just spread yourself around Your oc's, like the Oc's family, for example. I gave Kairu my long head hair, but I gave her daughters my (light light light, thin thin thin) arm hair. (I'm rather self-consious about that...BLEGH)
  7. Copy. Another thing to do, anthough it's rather...low, is to take something. Not exactly stealing, but say that you saw a really awesome movie with an awesome character who you absolutly loved because they twiddled with teir hair or something, make your OC twiddle with there hair. If you see a wedding gown you adore(Guilty) Then make that your OC's wedding gown.
  8. Observe other OC's. Speaking of movies, another thing to do is to watch how characters (Not just fandom OC's) react. The best way to learn is through obervance. I prefer book characters because they're more developed than movie characters, but movies are an excuse to have fun. ;D 
  9. Mary Mary so contrary, you make OC's hollow and airy. Yeah, sometimes ther's just no way around it. You OC could just be a sue. Most likeley, if they're under developed, no way in heck they would be, but still.


FOLLOW THESE STPS AND MAYBE YOUR OC CAN BE SAVED!!!

Oh, yeah! I forgot about the whole 'Sorin Manga Collection' story. He doesn't have tastes in manga. I'd rather read Cowboy Beebop than Naruto, whatever Cowboy Beebop is. I've only ever seen it in the back of Tokyo Pop mangas. You know, the ads??

So, they color in it, right?? I still have that one naruto I bought. We'll mess with it on the way up to the rink That'll be much enjoyable.

Sure, we can role play. That's be fun!

Ok, if someone says, "Pass the salt..." Raynee...passes the salt. She's not terribly suck up-y, but she's polite enough to pass salt if someone asks her to.

sirius wonders what you mean as well. they have no manners because that is their personality, not because of their parents or whatever. if you ask me, one parent would make you more mannerless, not the other way around. sirius' rudeness comes from having two older brothers))

Ahh, i see. Raynee dad was all strict and sruffs, though. Their personalities add to it, of course, but that just makes Raynee more talkative and quirky. She didnt have any siblings to teach her otherwise, so she just grew up with her dad making sure she did everything she could right. He's one of those guys. I based him on my own dad.

Oh, and when i say "I see your logic," usually it means, "Yes, i get it. I see what you mean."
